At the moment, I’m living in London and working as a Product Designer at Shell.
I have worked in Visual Communication for more than 12 years — from Graphic & Digital Design to User Experience & User Interface Design.
Over the past years, I led myself to immerse in a human-centred process, in order to understand the needs and habits of users. For me, to be a designer it is not only about designing interfaces that are easy to use and understand but, also, about communicating in a simple and human way.
I was born and raised in São Paulo-Brazil, but 6 years ago, I decided to leave my home country.
Today, I have lived in 4 different countries — Portugal, Ireland, Scotland and England. Because of that, I believe that my intercultural experience has helped me to adapt more easily to things that are not familiar or usual to me. I became more independent and open to new and difficult challenges.
Living abroad has been an extraordinary experience. The opportunity to learn and to develop as a professional and as a person, sharing my beliefs and passions through interacting with people from all over the world, is the most rewarding of all.
In addition, I believe my experience embrancing all cultures has enhanced my ability to understand users in different contexts and perspectives — political, economical, and cultural. And, at the same time, increasing my empathy for people when trying to understand their struggles and problems
Being part of the creative world, I have realised how important it is to stay in touch with the design comunity and to keep up to date.
More than 10 years ago I decided to create a blog — Des1gnON—, where I could share my knowledge and help aspiring other creatives designers. It is a blog written by designers and for designers, where we share concepts, knowledge, resources, tips, inspiration and trends.
Recently, I have started content creation on Instagram where I share knowledge and insights about UX and Career abroad for designers.
Despite being born in Brazil, I am also of Japanese, Italian and Spanish descendant.
In my free time, if not travelling, I like to cycle around London, play board games (Azul, Munchkin, Unstable Unicorns), and binge-watch Netflix. Also, one of my favourites things to do is hiking around places where I have never been.
